I needed the carpeting deep cleaned since the previous owners had 2 small dogs and my allergies have been horrible since moving from the Chicago area. I called A Step Above and made an appointment. When the gentleman arrived, he used a tool that beeped every time he inserted it into the carpeting. He told me he couldn’t clean my carpet for he would be taking my money under false pretenses. Nothing he could do would be able to get the pet urine out of my carpeting, since the urine had penetrated the floor boards. He told me the only permanent solution would be to have new carpeting installed and have the floor boards sealed. That night my husband went through the house with his black light and urine was everywhere. The new carpeting has been installed and the first place I will call when the carpeting needs cleaning is A Step Above–because it is a giant step above!

It went really well. They got back with me quickly, set an appointment to review the work and provided an estimate on the spot. We agreed to a work date and they provided plenty of communication on what was required of me and how the work would go prior to the appointment. On appointment date, they called prior to their arrival and showed up exactly when they said they would and the guys couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. The final product looks amazing… better than I would have imagined. Thank you!

It was very easy to set up the appointment, they came when they said they would, finished in the time they said, were extremely respectful of my home, follow up to make sure I was happy, and, most important, were able to do a small carpet repair I needed as part of the job. The estimate for the cleaning was done by email, but they, quite reasonably, did not do an estimate for the repair until they were on site, and it was also very, very fair. On price, they were not the least expensive, however, the real question is value not price when you are dealing with your carpet. Even with that, they were only very slightly higher, but worth EVERY bit of the very few pennies of difference (yes, I’m a tightwad). I got an estimate from them for my two orientals when the time comes. Hire them with confidence.
